Migrating from Google Workspace.
You import Gmail mailboxes over IMAP. Labels arrive as folders; virtual views like "All Mail" are skipped so messages aren't duplicated.
With two-step verification on, your Google account needs an app password; if your Workspace admin has turned off IMAP access, they need to turn it on first.

Before you start.
Check a few settings on the Google side.
IMAP access
Your Workspace admin must allow IMAP access for users; make sure IMAP is enabled in Gmail settings.
App password
With two-step verification on, create an app password in your Google account. The import connects with it; revoke it when the job is done.
Contacts and calendar
The import covers messages. Export contacts from Google as vCard or CSV and bring them into webmail; Mühür Mail doesn't have a calendar yet.
Migration in five steps.
The dashboard's migration plan follows the same order and shows each step's status from real data.
Step 1: Lower the TTL
Lower your current MX record's TTL to 300 seconds, so the new record spreads within minutes when MX changes.
Step 2: Create mailboxes
Connect your domain and create a mailbox for each person. New mail doesn't come to Mühür Mail until MX changes, so nothing stops at this step.
Step 3: Import old messages
Connect to the old server over IMAP, confirm the folder mapping and start the import.
Step 4: Switch the MX record
Point the MX record to Mühür Mail; remove the old provider's MX and SPF entries once the move is done.
Step 5: Confirm delivery
Send a message from outside and see it arrive; run the import once more to collect anything that reached the old server in between.
The import never deletes or flags anything at the source; re-running the same job skips messages that already arrived.
Gmail-specific details.
Gmail labels appear as folders over IMAP. Mühür Mail suggests the mapping; you confirm or change it.
- Server:
imap.gmail.com, port 993 (SSL/TLS) - Sent, Drafts, Spam and Trash map to their own folders
- "All Mail", "Starred" and "Important" are skipped; those messages are already in other folders
- A message with two labels arrives in both folders
- When MX switches, remove Google's MX records and the
include:_spf.google.compart of your SPF
Frequently asked questions
What happens to my labels?
Over IMAP each Gmail label appears as a folder; the import creates a folder with the same name. A message with several labels arrives in each folder separately.
I can't find the app password option.
App passwords appear only on accounts with two-step verification on. Your Workspace admin may have turned app passwords off; talk to your admin or write to us to plan the move together.
When should I cancel Google Workspace?
After MX has switched, you've seen new mail arrive at Mühür Mail and you've run the final import. Before cancelling, remember to export your other data such as Drive and calendar.
